'Hunger Games' star Amandla Stenberg: 'Yep, I'm gay, not bi or pan'
Amandla Stenberg, the former teen actor of "The Hunger Games" who came out as double attraction in 2016 when she was 17, says she now realizes she's gay.
In an interview with "Wonderland" magazine, she got right to the point, joking about her "Ellen DeGeneres on the 'Time' cover" moment."
"Yep, I'm Gay," she told singer King Princess, who conducted the interview for the international magazine that covers new and established talent in pop culture, including fashion, film, music and art.
"I was so overcome with this profound instinct of relief when I realized that I’m homosexual – not bi, not pan, but gay – with a romantic admire for women," Stenberg said.
Stenberg, now 19, said she had a few huge "Gay Sob moments" when she realized her sexuality. But she said they were joyful and overwhelmed sobs, not "mournful," and that "socialization" kept her from "understanding and living my truth for a while."

AmandlaStenberg just revealed she’s gay in a moving conversation with singer/songwriter King Princess.
“Yep, I’m gay,” Stenberg declared to King Princess during their interview for a spread in Wonderland Magazine.
Stenberg, 19, first came out two years ago as bisexual during a Snapchat interview with Teen Vogue. Now, the “Everything, Everything” actress says she knows she’s gay ― and the moment she realized her truthfulness she felt a “profound sense of relief.”
“I had a few large Gay Sob moments when I realized I was homosexual. One might consider that they were mournful sobs, but actually quite the opposite in my lived experience. They were joyful and overwhelmed sobs,” Stenberg said. “Socialization is a bitch and a half and kept me from understanding and living my truth for a while. "Hunger Games" actress Amandla Stenberg has been reveal about her sexuality in the past, but in an interview released on Monday, she stated for the first time that she's gay.
In a discussion with Wonderland magazine, Stenberg, 19, said that she's established since childhood that she was attracted to women, but didn't understand at the time what that meant.
She felt "this profound perception of relief" once she was competent to make instinct of her feelings, she told the magazine.
