Zoe Wees Shares Novel Single 'Daddy's Eyes'
Today, breakout star Zoe Wees released "Daddy's Eyes," a song brimming with the earnest, heartfelt and sometimes heartbreaking lyricism that contain won her acclaim. The 20-year-old wrote the anthem about her absent father - and she wrote it for those who grew up in similar circumstances. (According to The U.S. Census Bureau, 25% of children live without a father in the home.)
Zoe Wees explains, "My father was never there for my mother and me. I've met him once in my being and I realized that my eyes look exactly like his. I don't wanna cry these tears with my Daddy's Eyes. I don't need you, Dad!"
She recorded the solo with producers Patrick Pyke Salmy and Ricardo Muñoz, who helmed Wees' debut EP, Golden Wings, which included the RIAA Gold-certified, Top 20 Pop radio hit "Control," and Nicolas Rebscher.

German singer Zoe Wees released her long-awaited debut studio album “Therapy” Nov. 3, consisting of 20 tracks. This is her first full-length project since her breakout hit free “Control” in 2020.
Wees is from Hamburg, Germany and first became an creator by working on tune with her former mentor now turned manager, according to an interview with Notion. She also competed on the Germany series The Voice Kids in 2017.
Six years later, Wees has finally put out her debut album.
“Therapy” is a pop album where Wees showcases real and raw vulnerability in her lyrics. She sang about struggles with anxiety, depression, loneliness, relationships and growing up without a father.
Wees talked about deep topics while still making the project sonically enjoyable to listen to. She has a perfect mix of uptempo tracks and ballads that mesh well with the raspy tone in her vocals.
