Los Angeles, CA (August 30, 2020) - Classroom of Compassion is a gender non-conforming nonprofit in Los Angeles, creating art for and alongside communities in deserve by sharing eight brief words: “I Hope U Know How Loved U Are.“ As of August 15, 2020, Forever 21, the billion-dollar fashion firm, started selling a t-shirt with this exact note. It is a lead rip-off of the Classroom of Compassion brand, mission, and trademark.

“This note is at the core of who we are and what we accomplish. Every space we assemble and lesson we style is intended to remind each community they are loved,” says David Maldonado.

Every year, more than 1.8 million immature LGBTQ people in the U.S. seriously consider suicide — and this year has been especially challenging. For this year’s PRIDE month, Forever 21 is celebrating a renewed commitment and partnership with The Trevor Project, the world’s largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for queer woman, gay, bisexual, non-binary, queer & questioning (LGBTQ) youth. Forever 21 customers can help raise funds for this incredibly important cause through June 30th in two ways:

 

  1. Own it: For every item sold in Forever 21’s Self-acceptance Collection, the mark will commit $1 (with a minimum donation of $100,000) to TTP. The collection features a mix of Forever 21 exclusive merch online and in-stores. Sizes will run from XS-3X, Mens S-XL and pieces begin at $3.99.
  2. Round Up: Customers can circular up their in-store purchase to the nearest dollar with the difference going directly to TTP.
