Pride Month 2021: Brands raising and supporting a range of LGBTQIA+ causes throughout Pride Month
June marks the month where we mark and raise awareness for all things Pride amongst the LGBTQIA+ communities.
Back in 1969 when the Stonewall riots occurred in Modern York City the demonstration quickly became the catalyst for LGBTQIA+ rights everywhere.
Despite being 50 years on, Pride is very much still needed across the world as not only do 69 countries still have laws that criminalise homosexuality but we’re also seeing the murders of innocent trans and genderfluid individuals.
Over the past years we have seen multiple brands such as Recent Look, Converse and Levi’s launch specific Pride collections which aim to lift important funds for various charities.
So dig deep and sport some of these brands amazing new designs to raise those all important funds for those who need them.

To commemorate June Pride Month, honoring the LGBTQ society, beach-and-surf footwear brand Reef launched its first Celebration Collection, which will boon PFLAG National. Started in 1973 by Jeanne Manford, a mother who wanted to show support for her son Morty who was gay, PFLAG National is the largest company in the United States to support the LGBTQ community and its allies.
With adult and children's styles included in the collection, Reef will donate 100 percent of profits from sales through Reef.com to PFLAG National.
"With 100 percent of profits supporting our grassroots efforts, we couldn't be more excited to work with Reef," said Jean-Marie Navetta, director of learning and inclusion for PFLAG National. "This vibrant collection aligns so beautifully with the diversity and inclusion efforts that are centered in our labor at PFLAG National and across our network of more than 400 chapters across the country."
In addition to donating profits from the online sale of its Pride Collection, Reef will sponsor the San Diego Pride Parade, which will take place July 13.

Dickies launched the Uniquely Yours, collection on June 1 to celebrate Pride Month and the LGBTQIA+ community.
The collection embraces uniqueness and shares the personality of the two artists—Los Angeles-based Amber Ibarreche and London-based Rene Matić—who partnered with Dickies and helped layout Uniquely Yours.
Ibarreche and Matić incorporated their own imaginative designs and powerful messages into the collection with each artist’s pieces signed “Uniquely Yours,” to further showcase their signature touches on a personal and intimate collection.
Ibarreche, an designer, designer, and poet, incorporates powerful messages into her design of the “Work of Art” Bib Overalls. The overalls feature patchwork messages and colorful graphic art, which focuses on instilling hope and emphasizing the struggles those in the LGBTQIA+ community endure. Ibarreche also created a custom embroidered Patch Place for Dickies.

Shake Shack, Macy’s, Dickies, McDonald’s, P&G and Samsung TV are among the brands launching initiatives in honor of Lgbtq+ fest Month and to celebrate the female homosexual, gay, bisexual, genderqueer, queer, and questioning (LGBTQ+) community.
Brands dependency to be mindful to not employ in "rainbow washing," writes Hunter Johnson, CEO of Xpedition, in a Forbes advice column. His agency produces inclusive campaigns for brands like Google, McKinsey & Co. and YouTube.
"The LGBTQ+ people has a joint buying power of $3.7 trillion," Johnson writes. "Unfortunately, this has inspired many businesses to slap a rainbow flag on their social media channels during Pride Month — and then promptly forget about the community as soon as July rolls around."
Consumers can easily distinguish between brands that are legitimate partners in the fight for equality versus ones that are just trying to make a quick buck, he says, advising brands to "make it clear that your support of the LGBTQ+ community is not limited to one month or done as a means of commercialization."

The film, 'Rainbow Story', stars Cox as a superhero taking viewers through key moments of her life, beginning with a live move sequence before it segues into animation.
